Odyssey-3 Lets Anyone Prompt a Playable World, Physics Sold Separately

Odyssey opened a free public preview of Odyssey-3, a world model that turns text prompts into interactive environments in real time.

THE HOOK

Odyssey has opened its world model to the public, so you can now type a sentence and wander around inside it.

THE GIST

Odyssey launched a free public research preview of Odyssey-3, a 14-billion-parameter model that generates interactive environments from text in real time. A Flash version powers the free demo at 832x480, a Pro tier runs at 1280x720, and developers can apply for API access.

THE TAKE

This is the fun end of AI, and a public demo is smart because nothing sells a world model like letting people poke at it. The real customers aren't gamers, though. They're robotics teams who'd rather crash a simulated drone than a real one. Fuzzy today, training ground tomorrow.

OPINION

Odyssey says the model tops three of four categories on the WorldMark benchmark, but that's its own evaluation, and The Decoder flags that the physics benchmark claims come with caveats. Play with the demo before you believe the leaderboard.
