Europe’s AI transparency rules are now live
The European Commission’s AI Act transparency rules took effect today, turning provenance and disclosure from policy preparation into an operational requirement for providers and deployers serving the EU. The measures address AI systems that interact with people and the labelling of AI-generated or manipulated content, against risks including impersonation, fraud and misinformation. The immediate implication is practical: teams shipping chatbots, generative media or synthetic-content workflows need to test their disclosures and machine-readable marking now, rather than treating the rules as a future compliance project. OpenAI publishes ten results in mathematics and theoretical computer science
OpenAI has released a collection of ten advances spanning long-standing problems in geometry, cryptography and complexity theory. The publication is not a product launch; it is evidence of the company’s push to make AI-assisted mathematical research legible through specific results rather than broad capability claims. LG releases the 750B-parameter K-EXAONE 2.0 under Apache 2.0
LG AI Research has released K-EXAONE 2.0, a 750-billion-parameter mixture-of-experts model with 37 billion active parameters, under Apache 2.0. It supports ten languages and makes a very large Korean-developed model available for inspection and commercial deployment. For enterprises, the licence matters as much as the headline scale: it creates a plausible route to controlled deployment rather than API-only access. Read LG AI Research’s K-EXAONE 2.0 announcement.
DeepSeek moves V4-Flash into public beta and keeps the API call unchanged
DeepSeek says the official DeepSeek-V4-Flash API is now in public beta, with the existing calling method retained. Its documentation also says V4-Flash is currently the only DeepSeek model supported for Codex integration. That lowers switching friction for developers already testing the model and makes agent-tool compatibility, not merely benchmark scores, the near-term competitive question. Read DeepSeek’s API change log.

The Commission’s earlier Article 50 guidance is the useful implementation companion to today’s announcement: it distinguishes obligations for providers and deployers and covers disclosure of AI interaction and generated content. Read the Commission’s transparency-obligations guidance.
